Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist

Location: Batesville, MS

Job Purpose: Ensure accurate and timely audit, matching, and payment of vendors and suppliers. Post receivable payments, reconcile payments, make deposits, and perform bank reconciliations.

Primary Duties:

  • Audit, enter, and process invoices and bills.
  • Post data into financial ERP systems and other tracking systems.
  • Make projections for payments and balance cash disbursements.
  • Record and apply use taxes on invoices.
  • Make daily cash deposits and generate customer refunds.
  • Prepare monthly AP summaries and support internal/external audits.
  • Scan and file invoices, prepare and mail checks.
  • Support physical inventory annually.
  • Assist in year-end closing and preparing Form 1099s.

Secondary Duties:

  • Provide emergency storm support.
  • Attend relevant meetings, workshops, and courses.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School diploma; post-high school coursework in accounting desired.
  • Experience: Two years in utility accounting or general accounting functions.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, effective communication, attention to detail, confidentiality.

Work Environment: Office setting with some irregular hours, weekends, and holidays required.
