Tennessee Valley Authority is considering improvements to its electrical transmission system that will enhance the power supply in the Oxford, MS area and also support new load growth in the Grenada, MS area. These improvements include provisions for a new transmission line spanning from Oxford to Coffeeville. Tennessee Valley proposes to utilize existing right of way for some portions of the project and to purchase new right of way for other portions.
Tennessee Valley Authority’s process for siting new transmission projects is designed to allow public input at various stages and to work with area stakeholders to address concerns regarding the project. There will be an open house to discuss the proposed transmission project on Thursday, March 3, 2016 from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Yalobusha Country Club.
